Meet The Founder

The Heart Behind CMA: Meet Our Founder Miss Bobbi Dee.

“I was raised in Fitch Bay, and as a child, Saturday nights were pure magic.

I still remember the thrill of getting dressed up to head to the old town hall. Every week, we gathered to hear Sam Hopper and his band, dancing with neighbors and sharing laughs with the whole community. That hoedown wasn’t just music — it was connection. It made a little girl feel like she was part of something big and beautiful.

Through Country Music Appreciation, I’m working to bring that same joy and unity back to towns across Quebec. Our monthly events aren’t just shows — they’re a chance to reconnect, celebrate community, and build memories.

We believe in real country, real people, and real good times.”

“Saturday nights used to be everything.”

Bobbi Dee grew up in Fitch Bay, Quebec, where town hall hoedowns with Sam Hopper and his group were the highlight of the week. The music, the dancing, the community spirit — those memories shaped her vision of what a strong, joyful community can feel like.

That feeling is what drives Country Music Appreciation today: a grassroots movement bringing monthly live music events, family dinners, and good country fun to towns all across Quebec.

Through every show, Bobbi is recreating the magic of those Saturday nights — and inviting a whole new generation to experience the joy of music and togetherness.

Country Music Advocate & Community Leader

Bobbi Dee is the founder of Country Music Appreciation, a nonprofit cultural movement that brings monthly live music events, food, and family entertainment to small towns across Quebec.

Raised in Fitch Bay, Bobbi grew up attending local hoedowns at the town hall, dancing to Sam Hopper’s live band and feeling the magic of true community. Her personal mission is to revive that spirit across rural Quebec — bringing people together through real country music, shared meals, and local pride.

“We’re not just putting on shows — we’re building something that lasts. Country music reminds people who they are.”

Bobbi is also a performer, event organizer, and creative entrepreneur, dedicated to keeping live country music alive in both English and French-speaking communities.

Founder’s Statement

“I founded Country Music Appreciation because I believe that live music and community gathering are essential to the cultural health of rural Quebec.

Growing up in Fitch Bay, Saturday night town hall dances were a cherished part of life. They brought generations together — grandparents, kids, neighbors — all connected through live country music.

Today, many towns no longer offer these kinds of shared, intergenerational experiences. CMA is working to change that by hosting monthly events with music, food, and family fun in community centers across Quebec. With the right support, we can bring this movement to more regions, foster bilingual cultural exchange, and revive a treasured way of life.”
